Graphene is a unique material with ultimate thickness and remarkable electrical and thermal conductances.
In collaboration with METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) we work on the development of new quantum standard of resistance based on Quantum Hall effect in graphene.
In the Hall-bar geometry, the transverse resistance R_{xy} at different applied magnetic fields shows quantized values which are fractions of von Klitzing constant R_K: R_{xy} = \frac{R_K}{N}, where N\in \mathbb{N}, and
R_{K}=\frac{h}{e^2}=25812.8\,\Omega[1] K. S. Novoselov, Z. Jiang, Y. Zhang, S. V Morozov, H. L. Stormer, U. Zeitler, J. C. Maan, G. S. Boebinger, P. Kim, and A. K. Geim, “Room-Temperature Quantum Hall Effect in Graphene,” Science, vol. 315, no. 5817, pp. 1379–1379, Mar. 2007.
